photos of the week – behind the scene

I just came back from London after 20 working days in  Cyprus  ( HERE FEW CRAZY WEDDING SHOTS 😛 ) and I’m already departing for Turkey again … 20 days among rock climbing and outstanding views and culture 🙂 This weeks have been super busy – family shots, climbing photography, organising slowmotion (first photography holidays IN SICILY  HERE read the pdf) and a californian wedding in Sicily ! I was honoured  by being the photographer .. great people, nice shots and lots of fun!

Sono appena tornato da Londra dopo 20 giorni lavorativi a Cipro (QUI alcuni scatti WEDDING PAZZI: P) e sono in partenza per la Turchia .. 20 giorni tra arrampicata cultura e relax 🙂 Queste settimane sono state fin troppo occupate 😛 Family photos, arrampicata, slowmotion (primo viaggio in sicilia!!!) e un matrimonio californiano in Sicilia! Sono stato onorato di essere il loro fotografo .. bellissime persone, belle foto e un sacco di divertimento!

Climbing – Deep Water Solo in Syracuse

Here in sicily DWS is great – good rock , amazing sea and lot of potential. ( have a look at these shots )

I wanted to take a picture of my buddy climbing a hard route while the pounding sea would be just a soft hazy foam

To do So we used a canon 5d mark III a 17 – 40 to get everything into the frame but avoiding distortions and 2 flashes canon 600

The hardest thing was to get the angle right and climb down with 4000 euro equipment on my back .. fortunately nothing popped out from the rock

another problem was to find the right prospective – I had the problem that the picture looked dwarfed so i needed to go below the climber

We shot in M mode both camera and flashes

Flashes set to 1/1 max power 

camera 100 iso – f: 16 T: 1/2

Processed in Lightroom 5

The outcome looks pretty good 🙂

californian wedding

I had been contacted by these lovely guy who saw my pictures and wanted me to take photos during their wedding ( they found me here! ) they came all the way from California – USA to get married in sicily , Scicli – I was proud to be their photographer and furthermore for the fact that they came all the way because they loved sicily !

I like wedding photography , it is not my may kind but I love to apply my reportage style to my work and people choose me for this reason – I have a lot of fun and mingle with the guest . During my 5 years in Cyprus i shot more than 150 weddings but most of them for agencies – this was my first wedding in Sicily without any agency in between … Loved that 🙂

to get this shot i waited until the light got through the windows. I set the stage asking them to get ready in front of the window pain on the other side than i left .

I don’t like staging moment , but i do like  finding great light for my stories . I shot it with a canon 5d mark III and a 24 70 in Aperture priority – 2 stop – I loved the Black and white effect and it gives the possibility to focus on the subjects and light. Photography is all about understanding lights and  moments in a continuos state of curiosity ( Mine 😛 )

Family Shots in UK London

While in London I got the opportunity to shot this beautiful family –  no much to say apart from I had a lot of fun and children are difficult to shoot!

they move all the time and they are unpredictable – sport photography has helped me a lot in this 🙂

 

my 25th Bday Street shot in London

I celebrate 25 years old in London and we went out for dinner, show, walk, chat, take pictures and so on .. we were in a cub and she started talking to the driver, i loved the light and i used my 100d canon  small cute camera with a L lens 17 40 – high iso sucks but in this case they are not that bad (3200)

my photography holidays and workshops company is almost on air!!! few things left to do but you can already read the catalogue , see al the amazing stuff we do and read about the first trip to sicily – You cannot miss that if you like photography!
